How to register and manage your soccer team
On Playmaker App, the Team Owner role is the manager’s seat: you create the team, sign the players, enter the tournaments, and pick who takes the field. Here’s how to go from an empty club to a locked tournament roster.
Create your team
Creating a team takes a minute: give it a name, your city, and a unique team URL (slug) that becomes its home on the web. You can update the name, city and bio at any time from Manage Team - and if you ever need to, delete the team permanently from the same place.
Build your squad
Your squad is the full pool of players you draw from for every tournament you enter - build it once, reuse it everywhere. Squad Management is where it all happens.
- 1Add playersSearch free-agent players by name or @handle and add them to the squad.
- 2Set captainsAssign a captain and a vice-captain.
- 3Manage statusMark each player Active, Injured, Suspended or Unavailable - only Active players can be selected for a roster.
Find and enter tournaments
Use the Tournament Finder to browse public tournaments that are Published, Active or Live, filtering by sport and date. You need at least one player in your squad before you can apply. Submit an application - or accept a direct invite from an organizer - and you’ll be notified when it’s reviewed.
Pick and lock your roster
A roster is the specific set of players from your squad that represents the team in one tournament. In Roster Management you add players within the roster size and eligibility rules the organizer set, then lock the roster to finalize it.
Before the tournament goes live, the organizer verifies every team’s roster. They can approve it outright, approve individual players, or send a change request - if that happens, fix the flagged entries and resubmit. Once you’re verified, you’re match-ready: results, standings and your team page all update in real time as the tournament unfolds.
